Find out what has changed in One UI 6. Aesthetics and convenience have been improved to enhance the user experience.
New font
One UI Sans is the new typeface for One UI. It provides a highly readable, contemporary, and clean-looking geometric sans typeface.
Emojis
Emojis provided in Samsung Keyboard have been redesigned with a trendy and more modern feel.
Home screen
App names shown on the Home screen have been simplified from 2 lines to 1 line. This change provides a cleaner and more organized appearance and makes it easier to find the app you need.
Note : If your app name is too long, the end of its name may be cut off. Concise app names are recommended.
The default home screen grid has been changed from 4X5 to 4X6 so that apps and widget look harmonious.
Notifications
The layout of the notification panel has been enhanced. Each notification appears as a separate card, making it easier to recognize individual notifications.
To make it easier to recognize which app sent each notification, you can change your notification settings so that the same icons that appear on your Home and Apps screens are used for notifications.
Quick settings
The quick settings layout has been enhanced to make it easier to access the features used most often. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth now have their own dedicated buttons at the top of the screen, while visual features, like Dark mode and Eye comfort shield have been moved to the bottom. Other quick settings buttons appear in a customizable area in the middle.
Quick settings instant access is an optional setting that allows even quicker access to the quick panel. When turned on, you can view the expanded quick panel by swiping just once from the right side of the top of the screen. Swiping down from the left side shows notifications.
Multiple widgets on the cover screen
It's easier to access essential information on the cover screen with new widgets available in a variety of sizes. In addition to full-screen 4x4 widgets, smaller 4x2 and 2x2 widgets are now available.
Brief pop-ups on the cover screen
Users can now choose how notification pop-ups will appear on the cover screen, just like the main screen. In addition to detailed pop-ups, brief pop-ups can also be selected.
①Brief pop-up
②Detailed pop-up
